Why Sumanas

A Name Rooted In Compassion, Clarity, And The Possibility Of Growth.

About The Name

Sumanas is a Sanskrit word associated with a good mind, a kind heart, and benevolent intention. It can also evoke the image of a flower or lotus — something that can grow toward light even when its roots are held in difficult conditions.

I chose the name Sumanas Counseling because it reflects both my cultural roots and my understanding of therapy. Healing is not limited to reducing symptoms. It can involve developing a kinder relationship with the mind, listening to the body, restoring connection, and creating conditions in which change can unfold.

The name also represents integration. Thoughts, emotions, sleep, relationships, physical wellbeing, culture, and life experiences affect one another. Therapy becomes a place to understand these connections rather than treating each struggle as an isolated problem.
