What Happens During The First Session?

The first session focuses on understanding what brings you to therapy, your history, your current concerns, and what you hope will change. We will also discuss the therapeutic approach, initial priorities, and whether working together feels like a good fit.

Do I Have To Talk About Trauma Immediately?

No. Trauma-informed therapy should not require you to disclose or process difficult experiences before sufficient safety, trust, and stability are present. The pace is collaborative.

Is CBT-I The Same As Sleep Hygiene?

No. Sleep hygiene is general education about healthy sleep habits. CBT-I is a structured, evidence-based treatment that addresses the behavioral and cognitive patterns that maintain insomnia.

Can We Focus On More Than One Issue?

Yes. Sleep, stress, trauma, relationships, identity, and health concerns often interact. We can establish priorities while maintaining a whole-person view.

Do You Provide Therapy In Gujarati Or Hindi?

Yes. Therapy is available in English, Gujarati, and Hindi. We can discuss which language or combination feels most natural for you.

Do You Work With Immigrants And South Asian Clients?

Yes. Avani's immigrant perspective and multilingual background inform culturally responsive work with immigrants, first-generation adults, South Asian clients, and others navigating multiple cultural worlds.

Do You Accept Insurance?

The practice accepts Premera, LifeWise, and BlueCross BlueShield plans. Coverage must be verified for each specific plan.

What Are Your Self-Pay Fees?

Individual therapy is $250 per session. Family therapy is $300 per session.

Do You Offer Telehealth?
